Adding permissions to GroupManager

The majority of plugins use permission Ids to control which groups/users have control over what commands/features.

For example, every command in Essentials has a permission ID. A list of Essentials' commands and permission ID's can be found here.

http://wiki.ess3.net/wiki/Command_Reference

The permission for /home is essentials.home, the permission for /sethome is essentials.sethome. Lets say we want to give everyone the /home and /sethome commands.

While in game and type the command /manselect world (Once after every server restart) then type:

/mangaddp Default essentials.home

and

/mangaddp Default essentials.sethome

That command stands for Manage Group Add Permission. Default is usually the default group in Group Manager, you can type /listgroups to get a list of your groups.

Now all your users should have /home and /sethome available to them.

To remove a permission type: /mangdelp groupName permissionID.

Checkout our Adding groups and users to GroupManager page for how to create groups and add users.

Here is another example of adding permissions to a group. Let's assume you have followed the Adding groups and users to GroupManager guide and you have created a group called Builder.

Lets say we want to give the Builder group permission to post their position in chat so they can see where and notify others of their location.

While in game and type the command /manselect world (Once after every server restart) then type:

/mangaddp Builder essentials.getpos

Now all your users in the Builder group should have /getpos available to them.

To remove the /getpos permission type:

/mangdelp Builder essentials.getpos

Here's some examples of common plugin permission Ids:

LWC chest protection

  • lwc.protect : Gives a group the ability to lock a chest.

WorldEdit

  • worldedit.navigation.jumpto : Lets someone use a compass to jump where they're targeting.
  • worldedit.navigation.thru : Lets someone use a compass to jump through walls.
