Moving a world from a server to your computer.

  1. Shutdown the server. McMyAdmin users can use the stop button ont he panel. Other users can use PuTTY. See How to start/stop/restart/update your server on how to shutdown your server.
  2. Log into your server using WinSCP. See our Using WinSCP page for how to use it.
  3. Go into the minecraft folder. (sometimes called mcmyadmin)
  4. Rightclick on the world folder and rightclick Custom Commands > Tar/GZip. That will compress your world into a tgz file.

  5. Start your server back up (optional)
  6. Drag the new archive.tgz (or what you named it) to your computer.
  7. Once it's on your computer. Rightclick the file and extract it. 7zip, Winrar or Winzip might be nessesary to uncompress the file.
