SSH via Terminal

Mac and Linux users can use the built in program Terminal to SSH into their server. This page will help you do that.

But first, you'll need the server's IP address, SSH user and password. All this info can be found in your Minecraft Server Host: Account information email.

  1. Open Terminal
  2. type ssh username@IPAddress
  3. You'll be asked if you wish to accept the server's key, choose (type) yes.
  4. You'll be asked for the SSH password, type that in or copy it and hit Shift+Insert to paste it in. note, you won't see the characters being inputted, this is a security feature but do know they are being sent.
  5. If the username, IP and password are correct, you should now be at the server's command line. From here you can input commands as shown on our pages.

note: these screenshots were taking using Linux, the commands will work on Mac too.
